Stewardship is often thought of as our duty to give support to the parish and to provide for material needs. However, giving is only a piece of the meaning of stewardship. Stewardship is helping the Church’s mission with time, money, and personal resources of all kinds. It is an option, but a serious duty if we are truly collaborators in God’s work of creation, redemption and sanctification. Stewardship ties into the other Parish Life elements by leading people to share in the work of Evangelization, and the ministries of Faith Formation and Service.

Gifts and Bequests
A bequest or testamentary gift is the simplest way for many donors to make a significant, lasting gift to Most Holy Trinity. When you are preparing your will, ask yourself, “Would I like to support Most Holy Trinity through my will?”
When the needs of spouses, children and other loved ones have been addressed, many people find it satisfying to know that part of their assets will go toward supporting the church. A testamentary gift can also significantly reduce the federal estate tax due at the donor’s death. Individuals can make testamentary gifts at a relatively small cost to their heirs.
By making bequest of particular assets to Most Holy Trinity, which is exempt form federal estate taxes, you can actually preserve more of your estate for the benefit of loved ones. There are no maximums on the dollar amount of the charitable deduction from your estate.
There are a number of accepted ways to make a bequest in your will or revocable living trust. Some types of bequests include: Residuary, Percentage and Specific. You should consult your attorney or financial advisor before deciding on the form or content of any bequest you wish to make.
A great deal of helpful information is available on the Catholic Foundation for the Diocese of Tucson website at www.cathfnd.org. The Catholic Foundation will also provide you with assistance in making arrangements. Please call Martin Camacho at 520-838-2508, or email him at mcamacho@cathfnd.org.
Bequest language:
“I bequeath [insert dollar amount, percentage or residual] to Most Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Parish – Tucson, a non-profit organization located in the state of Arizona for its unrestricted use.”
