A brief history of Most Holy Trinity:
In December 1974, Bishop Francis J. Green appointed Fr. Richard Calmus pastor of Most Holy Trinity Parish (MHT), effective January 1975. Masses were held at Pima Community College from March 1975 to May 1976, when the location was changed to Maxwell Jr. High School on Anklam Road. Saturday evening Masses were held in parishioners homes. Sr. Elise Calmus, Fr. Dick's sister, set up the first Religious Education Classes which were also held in the homes of parishioners. Fr. Dick was named Pastor Emeritus in 1977 when illness forced him to retire. He died in 1994.
In February 1978 Fr. Richard Costigan was named pastor. He presided over the groundbreaking Mass on Easter Sunday 1979.
In September of 1979 Fr. Ronald P. Gagnon was named pastor of MHT, a position he held until his retirement in June 2001.
The first Mass was celebrated in the new church on Christmas 1979. The dedication Mass and blessing was January 20, 1980. Fr. Ron moved to an on-site rectory in March 1980.
In 1987 an education building was added to the complex. In 1997 the church was renovated to increase seating to 300, and in 1999 a new five room Education Center was built.
In July of 2001 Bishop Moreno entrusted the parish to the Society of the Divine Savior so that they would have a place to house a new education and ministry training program in the diocese called the Jordan Ministry Team. Fr. Bill Remmel, SDS was appointed pastor of the parish.
On August 22, 2010, Bishop Kicanas dedicate a renovated vestibule, sacristy, restrooms, kitchen, store rooms and Guadalupe Hall. This is the first of three phases. Phase two will be a new office building and additional parking and the final phase will be a new church.
