Just Faith 2011-2012 at Most Holy Trinity
TO JOIN THE JUST FAITH GROUP AT MOST HOLY TRINITY, CONTACT LEO GUARDADO AT (520) 884.9021 OR EMAIL leo@mhtparish.org. Classes will begin at the end of August.
Just Faith is a national formation program that truly allows participants to wrestle with what it means to be a person of faith in a world plagued with injustice. Most Holy Trinity has facilitated this 30 week program for the past 5 years. In 2010-2011, we had two groups for a total of 16 people that participated in the program. All of the parish staff at MHT has also graduated from this program.
JustFaith focuses on discipleship—engagement in the life of Jesus—and the call to be about God’s dream of justice and compassion in a world scarred by the domestic and global crisis called poverty. Meeting weekly, small groups of 6–15 people employ books, videos, discussion, prayer, retreats and hands-on experiences. The intent is to provide a tapestry of learning opportunities that emphasize and enliven the healing work of God’s compassion found in scripture, church history and teaching, and faithful witnesses.
Participants are exposed to not only a substantive and demanding course of study but are also afforded the privilege of becoming community with other participants and sharing a spiritual journey of faith and compassion that is both life-giving and challenging.
The 30-week program typically begins in mid-to-late August and ends at the end of April.
