Line in the Sand--A Catholic Relief Services Drama Project
In August 2005, Catholic Relief Services sent a team of writers and actors to the arizona-Mexico border to study migration. The group spoke to a variety of people affected by the issue, and turned those interviews into a powerful stage performance.
In 2007, Most Holy Trinity Parish, under the direction of Fr. Joe Rodrigues SDS, adapted their drama project, increasing the number of actors/actresses and changing the staging but not the script, for their Good Friday evening contemporary service.
Since then they have performed it serveral more times, not only at Most Holy Trinity, but in several other parishes in the city as well. In January 2008 it was used as part of the opening prayer to the 46th annual study week of the Southwest Liturgical Conference at the Convention Center in Tucson. In January 2011, Line in the Sand was performed in San Antonio, TX as part of the A Light to the Nations conference sponsored by Celebration Publications and the National Catholic Reporter.
