Music Ministry Opportunities

Ours is a diverse parish and our liturgical ministries respond to this diversity in various ways. Much of the difference in "feel" can be attributed both to the style of music used and the assembly drawn to each.

The 4:00 pm Vigil Mass with piano and choir tends to draw a mixed crowd.

The 7:30 am Sunday Mass is our only quiet liturgy (no singing) and tends to draw those who are nourished by a quiet celebration in the early morning.

The 9:00 am Mass with contemporary choir and ensemble tends to draw families and those comfortable with children and youth.

On the 5th Sunday of each month our children choir leads the music.

Mariachi Herencia de Cuco Del Cid leads the music at our 11:00 am Mass.   This liturgy tends to draw families, those comfortable with children and youth, and those who are enriched by the Mariachi Music.

The 1:00 pm Mass with keyboard, electric guitars and drums is our youth Mass. It tends to draw youth and those who are enriched with this style of music.

Anyone with a pleasant voice and/or the ability to play an instrument and who has a willingness and desire to make the Mass a prayerful and uplifting experience is encouraged to become a member of one of our music groups.

CHOIR PRACTICE TIMES:

Our 4:00 pm choir practices at 7:00 pm on Mondays. The 9:00 am contemporary choir practices at 7:00 pm on Tuesdays. The youth choir practices on Thursdays at 7:00 pm. Attendance at practices is really important and strongly encouraged.

Children's Choir
Our children's choir is open to all children of reading age through 6th grade. They sing at the Monthly Family Mass as well as the annual Family Christmas Mass and at the 1st Communion Masses. Attendance at the practices is really important and strongly encouraged.

Note: Children in the Religious Education Program do the reading, the serving, and the ushering at these Family Masses.
